Sick And......

I was carefully making my way along the walking track at the community center yesterday. I had already used the exercise bicycle and a few of the other machines, so I knew that my energy reserves were getting low. I planted myself in the inner-most lane (pass on the outer lanes, please!) and plodded along at a slow but steady pace, mentally complementing myself for being mindful of my energy levels.

And then an elderly lady using a walker and breathing oxygen from the tank strapped to her walker PASSED ME ON THE OUTER LANE.

My jaw dropped in astonished exasperation as she zipped smartly around me and left me in the dust.

I couldn't stand it. So I stepped up my pace and passed HER. Nyeah! And kept up the pace for several more laps. Good grief in a bucket!

Today, I'm paying the price. It's so frustrating that just a few minutes of fast walking should put me on the couch today. Not only are my reserves low - they're in the negative column. Simply taking a shower and getting dressed today left me quivering and sweaty.

Maybe I should go back and find her to beg for a few hits off her oxygen.

I am SO sick and tired of being sick and tired!

My cranky frame of mind spurred me to look for something to cheer me up. This YouTube video was just the thing - it left me laughing until I cried. Bill Cosby talks about his childhood - and I just love minute 6:14 when he does his bit about "sick and tired"!

Ahhh. I feel better.

"Reasonably Well" is a ministry that touches so many of us that live with Sjogren's. Your balance of reliable data with just the right amount of humor puts a bright spot in many of my days. Loved the Bill Cosby video! Thank you for all you do. Be blessed.

Can't tell you have many times I catch myself saying, "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired."
Next time I'm sure to have a laugh or two!
