Seersucker Camoflauge

Image found here. And no, this is not a picture of me. Sigh.

I have one article of clothing that promotes and enables my early morning laziness.

My mother used to call these lightweight zippered coverups house dresses, not that she would ever have been caught dead in one. No, my energetic '70 - something mom hops out of bed, is through the shower and into her jeans before you can blink twice.

Mom's less energetic daughter, however, has discovered the housedress, and loves them. Mine is a blue plaid seersucker fabric, is comfy and roomy, and when I put it on, I feel as though I'm getting away with something. I can throw it on over my nightie and pad around the house, coffee cup in hand and fuzzy slippers on my feet, just putzing around.

Do you putz? You know - fuss with this, and do a little of that, but basically get very little accomplished.  Putz. Love that word. I am the putz queen since Sjogren's.

So with my house dress covering up my ratty nightie, I feel marginally dressed. Just clothed enough to dash out to bring in the garbage can, or pick up the newspaper, or answer the door for the UPS delivery man.

Putz mode is very therapeutic when I am heading off a flare, or recovering from a crash. So if you see me in seersucker - don't expect me to get a thing accomplished.

Julia the Seersucker Putz Queen. I like it.
