I wouldn't have thought that hiccups would be included in a list of chronic illnesses, but another gentleman struggling with hiccups would definitely make that list.
According to Wikipedia, Charles Osborne holds the world record for hiccups. Poor Charles' hiccups began in 1922 while he was slaughtering a hog. They occurred 40 times per minute and lasted for 68 years.
