A Poem

Image found here.

I have been informed that April is not only Sjogren's Syndrome Awareness Month, but it is also Poetry Month.

Well.

Allow me to combine these two auspicious commemorative events into one by sharing a poem that expresses my feelings about Sjogren's syndrome:

Ahem.

(Envision Laugh-In, Henry Gibson, and a large daisy.)

A Poem About Sjogren's syndrome. By Julia.

I'm dry everywhere
even in my brain.

My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth like I'm eating a peanut butter sandwich, but there's no peanut butter, or bread.

Sammy and Maggie love having me home all the time. Maggie sleeps on my stomach when I nap.

It could be worse.

Clap, clap, clap!

How's the black eye healing up, Julia?

Trust your brownies were a big seller...
(I like the 'one bowl' recipe on the bakers' chocolate box.
I always use real butter :-d - yum.)

I'm sending over the diet police.

The sun does shine, the moon is riz
I wonder where the flowers iz?
Julia may think she’s slow
But she’s still my friend, don’t you know.

Her brain may fog, her foot may slip
But she has a kind word on her lip.
We can still sip martinis in a glass
And have fun while we sit on – the couch.
