Julia Calling

I love this picture of Lulu on my cell phone.

I was talking to my Mom on the phone the other day. We shared each other's week by trading anecdotes and stories about just about everything we could think of.

Mom and Dad live across the continent from me, and although we visit once or twice a year, still I miss being there more frequently. Which gave me the answer to Day Three's WEGO Health blogger challenge prompt: "If you could have a super power, what would it be?"

So I was thinking how great it would be if I could just somehow transport myself through a telephone line, or cell phone, or some communication thingie to just appear in THE FLESH to the person that I was talking to.

Cool!

Yesterday, Mom and I were yakking while she was putting the finishing touches on a batch of her famous chocolate fudge. Whoa. How fun would it be to just zap myself though the phone to materialize in her kitchen and swipe tastes of the yummy fudge straight out the kettle like I used to do when I was a kid. OR when she's pulling a batch of caramel rolls out of the oven. OR as she opens up the first jar of that year's batch of her dill pickles.

Well, now. This super power would open up a whole world of possibilities. Anywhere any kind of phone could make a call -- there I could be. Anywhere. My goodness. I could go on for pages blabbing here about where I would send myself.

But actually, to be able to hug my kids good night again every evening would be the best thing of all. Sigh.

Ooo, hey. And sooner or later, there's going to be grandkids to smooch! I could just line up an evening's worth of nighty-night hugs and kisses. AND I could zip on down to snuggle Godson and his baby brother with far more regularity than I do now.

Hee hee. If I developed this super power, I wonder how many of my relatives and friends would actually answer the phone when I called?

I don't think I'd like to be stuck in someone's answering machine.

You're right, I wish too I can see and visit family and friend more easily. That's a super power !

I would LOVE that super power myself!

And I'd still answer the phone, but given how often I answer my cell phone while we're in the car (since I usually sucker Scott into driving...), I hope you'd check before zapping yourself through the line. Hehe.
