She Can't Walk Off Her Court


Thanks to Venus Williams and the publicity that resulted from her Sjogren's syndrome diagnosis, the media response continues. This summer, Venus Williams pulled out of the U.S. Open, revealing that she had been diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome. 
My first reaction when I heard about it was anger. How was it that Williams got to walk off her court and I didn't? 
It wasn't that I had no empathy. I, too, suffer from Sjögren's syndrome, with an overlap of lupus........
