Real Perspective

In thinking about what happened ten years ago today, my paltry problems seem insignificant.

I'm taking a moment today to remember those who were victims of those horrific events. I'm also taking a moment to say a prayer of thanks for all those who were heroes on that day.

May God bless them all.

Shawn's lectoring at mass today (I'm doing Communion), and he called the rectory the other day to make sure they'd be ok with him wearing his class-A uniform from the firehouse in honor of the day. (Of course, they said yes.) We sometimes have a priest from Villanova say some of our masses, and he doesn't always think to acknowledge things like this - that aughta be a pretty big reminder for him, and for the congregation.

Thanks Jazzcat:)

I still remember watching in horror and listening to the news describing what was happening that day. It seemed surreal, that this could not be happening. We had visited New York City the previous year on Labor Day weekend, and had visited the Towers and other sights.

My heart goes out to all those that lived through this, that lost loved ones, friends and colleagues, and also the survivors who live with this nightmare on a daily basis. Canada mourns and prays with you.
