A Sunday Reminder of My Worth

John and I bought a few of those some-assembly-required bookshelves yesterday. They came in large bulky boxes and I was struggling to help him unload them from the car. I watched enviously as John casually grabbed the box from my hands and not only brought them into the house but also carried them up a flight of stairs without breaking a sweat.

Later, as I was sprawled out on the couch, I was fuming and frustrated. Good grief in a bucket! I really don't like my pathetic body right now.

That night I chose to read my bible before going to sleep.

Thanks, Lord. I needed that.

I, too, feel envious when I see someone do something I no longer can....I live in the Adirondack mountains in upstate NY, and everyone here skis, hikes and is just very very physical. I'm lucky right now to be able to take my flat, 3 mile walk for exercise. I'm also envious of those that can be in the sunshine at all....I'm the whitest person I know in the summer!
