Quote for the Day

This from A Delicate Balance by Susan Milstrey Wells:

"Are we putting our heads in the sand when we find meaning in a life with chronic illness? I don't think so. After all, we could find that our lives are devoid of meaning and rail at our bad luck, but then we would be both sick and miserable.

Those who seem most at peace with chronic disease have found the true gift of illness - the necessity, and the time, to find the good in life. The positive spin we put on our experiences is tinged with the reality of pain and disability, but however delicate the balance we have achieved, the foundation of our beliefs is strong and resilient."
